Plan prices are a percentage of the drone's price excluding GST. For example, on a drone priced at ₹1,00,000, the 1 Year Comprehensive Extended Warranty costs ₹2,500, plus 18% GST as with every price on the site.

What a plan costs on popular drones
Plan prices follow the drone's price before GST, so the cost is easy to work out before you buy. Here is what the two extended warranties come to on three of our most popular DJI drones. Figures are rounded and exclude 18% GST.

What every plan covers
The free 1-Year Premium Warranty and both extended warranties cover faults that are not your fault. That means:
- manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship;
- structural defects in the frame or chassis that did not come from an impact;
- failures of motors, the gimbal and other mechanical parts;
- electronic defects in the flight controller, sensors or GPS;
- battery and power-supply faults under normal use.
What is not covered
Accessories are not covered by the standard warranty, and that includes remote controllers such as the DJI RC-N3. Accidental or physical damage, such as a crash, a hard landing or impact damage, is not covered either. If that happens, our drone repair lab in Bengaluru can quote a paid repair, with a 72-hour turnaround.
Which plan is right for you?
- You fly now and then: the free 1-Year Premium Warranty covers your first year from day one.
- You fly every week, or plan to sell later: the 1 Year Comprehensive Extended Warranty adds a second year and moves to the new owner if you sell.
- You fly for work or keep drones for years: the 2 Years Comprehensive Extended Warranty gives two extra years of cover.
- You run a fleet of enterprise or survey drones: an Annual Maintenance Contract keeps every aircraft serviced, calibrated and up to date, so fewer days are lost to downtime.
How a claim works
Start a claim on our warranty claims page. Have your order or invoice number, the drone's model and serial number, the purchase date, and photos or a short video of the fault ready. A HobiTech specialist replies shortly during working hours (10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, every day) and tells you what happens next. Claims on DJI drones are handled by our own team and repair lab, so you deal with one company from start to finish. Products from Indian brands carry their manufacturer's warranty, and we help you claim it.

Who provides the warranty on drones bought from HobiTech?
HobiTech does. The 1-Year Premium Warranty on DJI drones is HobiTech's own warranty, and claims are handled by our team and our in-house drone repair lab in Bengaluru.
What does the 1-year HobiTech warranty cover?
Manufacturing, motor, gimbal, electronic and battery faults on new drones bought from HobiTech. It is included free with every new drone.
How much does an extended warranty or AMC cost?
Each plan is priced as a percentage of the drone's price excluding GST: 2.5% for the 1 Year Comprehensive Extended Warranty, and 5% for the 2 Years Comprehensive Extended Warranty or an Annual Maintenance Contract.
Are remote controllers covered by the warranty?
No. Remote controllers, including the DJI RC-N3, count as accessories and are not covered by the standard warranty.
Can I transfer an extended warranty if I sell my drone?
Yes, the 1 Year Comprehensive Extended Warranty is transferable on resale. For other plans, ask us before you sell. If you are selling or upgrading, see buy, sell and exchange.
