Short answer: The DJI Lito 1 brings features that used to sit higher up DJI's range, including omnidirectional obstacle sensing, a 3-axis gimbal, 4K video, ActiveTrack and up to 36 minutes of flight, to a 249 g beginner drone priced at ₹54,990 before GST at HobiTech. Its sibling, the Lito X1, adds a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor, forward LiDAR and 42 GB of internal storage for ₹68,990 before GST. Together they reset what a first drone should be able to do.

What the Lito series actually is
The Lito line is DJI's new beginner-focused camera drone series. DJI announced it on 26 April 2026 and positioned both models for people buying their first proper drone: travellers, content creators and hobbyists who want reliable footage without learning a complex machine.
The Lito keeps the sub-250 g weight that matters under Indian rules, but adds the safety and tracking features beginners benefit from most. Browse both models in our DJI Lito series collection.
Lito 1 vs Lito X1: specifications

Why this changes the entry-level market
Omnidirectional sensing at a beginner price
New pilots tend to crash while reversing, turning or tracking a subject past trees and walls. Omnidirectional obstacle sensing on both Lito models is the biggest upgrade for beginners. DJI rates the sensing for low light down to 5 lux, and the Lito X1 adds a forward LiDAR sensor for extra confidence when flying towards obstacles.
Proper subject tracking
Both drones support ActiveTrack, QuickShots, MasterShots, Hyperlapse and Panorama. DJI says ActiveTrack on the Lito X1 can follow subjects moving at up to 12 m/s. For travel and vlogging that means hands-off shots of cycling, walking or driving without a second operator.
Flight time that removes battery anxiety
Up to 36 minutes on the standard battery gives a beginner time to frame a shot properly instead of rushing back to land.
DJI's QuickTransfer also moves files to your phone at up to 50 MB/s over Wi-Fi 6, so clips can be posted from the field.
Which one should you buy?
Choose the Lito 1 if this is your first drone, your budget is tight and you mostly post to social media. Its 4K video and 48 MP stills suit phone screens well. The Lito 1 Fly More Combo at ₹71,990 before GST is the better buy for travellers because of the extra batteries.
Choose the Lito X1 if you care about image quality in mixed light. The larger 1/1.3-inch sensor, HDR video and 10-bit D-Log M give you more room to grade sunsets, city lights and high-contrast landscapes. Forward LiDAR and onboard storage are useful extras. See the DJI Lito X1 at ₹68,990 before GST.

Rules in India: Nano or Micro?
This is where weight matters. Under India's Drone Rules, 2021, a drone with an all-up weight of 250 g or less is a Nano drone, and anything above 250 g up to 2 kg is a Micro drone.
- With the standard battery (approx. 249 g): the Lito 1 and Lito X1 are Nano drones. You do not need a pilot licence, but you must register the drone on DGCA's Digital Sky (eGCA) portal before flying, and you must still respect airspace zones.
- With Battery Plus (max approx. 340 g): DJI lists a higher-capacity Battery Plus that extends flight time to 52 minutes, but it takes the drone above 250 g. Flown that way, it counts as a Micro drone. Micro drones must be registered, and any commercial flying needs a DGCA Remote Pilot Certificate.
Always check the airspace map on Digital Sky before take-off. Our DGCA drone rules guide for 2026 explains zones, registration and permissions in detail.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a licence to fly the DJI Lito 1 in India?
Not with the standard battery. At approximately 249 g it is a Nano drone, so no pilot licence is needed, but it must be registered on DGCA's Digital Sky portal. With the heavier Battery Plus it becomes a Micro drone, and commercial use then needs a DGCA Remote Pilot Certificate.
What is the main difference between the Lito 1 and Lito X1?
The Lito X1 has a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor, HDR video with 10-bit D-Log M, forward LiDAR and 42 GB of internal storage. The Lito 1 uses a 1/2-inch sensor and relies on vision plus infrared sensing.
How long does the Lito 1 fly?
DJI quotes up to 36 minutes with the standard battery and 52 minutes with Battery Plus, measured in controlled conditions. Expect less in wind or heat.
Does the Lito 1 have obstacle avoidance?
Yes. Both Lito models have omnidirectional obstacle sensing, which DJI rates for low light down to 5 lux.
Is the remote controller covered by HobiTech's warranty?
No. HobiTech's 1-year warranty covers the drone; remote controllers count as accessories and are not covered. See our warranty claims page for how to raise a claim.
